In February 2013, we were thrilled to invest behind the vision of our Partner, Tony Conrad, as he and his Co-Founder, Ryan Freitas, purchased about.me back from AOL to develop it into a lasting, stand-alone company. A year and a half later, about.me has seen tremendous growth, with over 4.5 million users located on every continent. Additionally, the company’s page-views, logins, time spent on site and active users are at an all-time high.

Today, about.me announced even more exciting news: they have raised $11 million in Series B funding from lead investor Foundry Group and existing investors True, SoftTech VC, CrunchFund and Bullpen Capital. Foundry Group’s Managing Director Brad Feld will be joining me on about.me’s Board of Directors, and we’re looking forward to working once again with Brad and the Foundry team.

This funding for about.me is a great achievement for a company that is quickly becoming essential to one’s online identity, and we are excited to watch the platform grow and develop as Ryan and Tony use this new funding to expand the product and explore new verticals. And if you don’t yet have an about.me account, you can sign up here.

Tony, Ryan and the entire about.me team: Congratulations!
