The sun is shining, the Stanford classrooms are prepped, and we at True are awaiting the arrival of over 300 True Founders, their employees, and visiting professors to True University. This is a banner year for us, as it marks the 5th True University and our biggest and most exciting event yet.

True U in Session

We created True U in 2011 to extend our Founder Camp experience to all employees of True portfolio companies and give them the chance to experience world-class speakers, unparalleled education about the startup process, and opportunities to connect and collaborate with others in their disciplines. The event has grown both in scope and attendance since those first two days at Stanford—we welcomed 150 attendees in 2011 and are expecting more than twice as many today. True U has become a touchstone not just in our annual calendar, but for many teams in our portfolio as well. Attending True U has become for many companies an employee incentive for a job well done, and over the years, Founders have started to build entire company offsites around this event.

True University would not be the event it is today without the wonderful group of “professors” who share their expertise with us each year. We are excited to welcome the brilliant speakers joining us for True U 2015, including Robin Chase, Soleio Cuervo, Dave Evans, Porter Gale, Hans Robertson, Marc Hemeon, and many more. There is so much deep knowledge and experience around us today, and we feel privileged to be able to provide a platform through which to share it.

We always say “it’s all about the people,” and today is all about the people who work every day to make Founders’ dreams come to life through design, sales, marketing, engineering and every other function in our rapidly growing companies. We’ll be tweeting and posting on Instagram throughout the event, so make sure to follow us—or look for #TrueU to see what our attendees have to say.

Class is now in session!
