Congratulating Socrative

We are pleased to announce that True portfolio company Socrative has been acquired by education technology company MasteryConnect. Socrative, which True first funded in April 2013, delivers simple technology to enable instant classroom engagement, assessment and personalization through educational exercises, games and other tools utilized via apps for mobile and desktop devices.

Socrative’s real-time assessment and engagement technology is a perfect fit for MasteryConnect’s suite of cloud-based software and apps for mastery-based learning in K-12 settings. Together, the two companies will be able to further their shared vision to support teachers’ efforts to identify levels of student understanding in real-time, thus enabling teachers to spend more time with their students in a personalized learning environment.

This is an exciting next step for Socrative Founders Benjamin Berté and Michael West, whom we met through True portfolio company Always Prepped Founder Fahad Hassan. Benjamin and Michael are smart, humble Founders who have created a beautiful product for the largest and fastest-growing market in the world, and we couldn’t be more excited to see their vision expanded with this new partnership.
