True Ventures – There is An App For That!

I am going to go out on a limb and say that True Ventures is the first venture capital firm with its very own App. We are live in the iTunes, Android, and Blackberry App stores and have been since mid-July. I don’t suspect you will see it in the Top 10 Download Charts, but I do believe that Founders, Investors, and people who want to work for or follow True Ventures and its companies will find great value in having our app on their mobile device. Personally, I favor the video feeds and the Push Notifications as my favorite features of the app.
How We Did It:
We love working with our portfolio companies where possible, e.g. this site and our blogs are all on WordPress. In this case, all the answers for the app and its functionality are found within our portfolio. Kurtosys Systems, which focuses on financial technology software, designed and developed the app. To facilitate the 1 to 1 communication via Push Notifications, Kurtosys works with another portfolio company, Urban Airship.
Kurtosys is a Fund I investment and is at the leading edge of the mobile economy for Global Financial Service firms, and Urban Airship is a Fund II investment and provides a very key piece of mobile infrastructure for mobile app publishers.
It has been a real pleasure to work with the Kurtosys team and see their technology manifest itself in such a personal manner. It is still a version 1.0 app, but we will continue to iterate and improve on it as so many of our companies do with their products. So, Download and Enjoy!
