True Entrepreneur Corps 2014: Apply Now!

It seems like just yesterday we celebrated the end of our fifth summer of True Entrepreneur Corps (TEC), True’s entrepreneurial summer fellowship program for college students. However, we are already thinking ahead to the summer of 2014 and are excited to welcome the sixth class of TEC Fellows to our community. As of this month we are accepting applications for next year’s cohort to fill out a program that is at the core of our mission as a firm.

We created TEC in 2009 before The Social Network and before entrepreneurship sprung to widespread prominence in popular culture and on university campuses. We believed that by connecting talented undergraduates with summer internships at our portfolio companies, we could have an impact on multiple levels. First, our rapidly growing companies could benefit from enthusiastic and able assistance from bright and capable young people. But even more importantly, these young people—in the middle of their college experiences and still exploring the variety of professional opportunities awaiting them after graduation—would get a chance to experience the energy and excitement of life at a startup.

TEC has evolved significantly not only to prepare Fellows to found their own companies or to someday join another startup, but also to give them increasingly more exposure to all elements of work and life in the Bay Area. At the core of the experience is an internship with a True startup, which is supplemented by a weekly entrepreneurial curriculum held Thursday afternoons at our offices. In 2014, we will offer 10-week fellowships to 12 rising juniors and seniors, matching them with True portfolio companies in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Entrepreneurially-minded students of all majors and backgrounds are invited to apply as we traditionally have had demand to fill both technical and non-technical positions.
