Congratulating the “Rising Stars”

Two True “alumni” were named to Forbes’ list of “10 Rising Stars at the World’s Most Innovative Companies” today, and we’re very happy to congratulate Alex Bard and Tim Young on this honor!

We got to know Alex in early 2010, and over the past three years he has become an integral part of the True portfolio, a brilliant advisor and a trusted friend. Alex and his co-founders built Assistly during a tough time for startups, and the company was acquired by Salesforce in 2011. It is a joy to see Alex’s product and career continue to grow and flourish. Congratulations Alex!

We met Tim in 2008, and every member of our team felt that he was a truly special entrepreneur. Tim became a key part of the True social fabric, teaming up with our own Tony Conrad to found about.me and introducing us to Milo (acquired by eBay). We led the Series A funding for Tim’s company, Socialcast, in April 2009, and it was acquired by VMware in 2011. We are so happy for his continued success. Congratulations Tim!
