Congratulating OnTheAir

True portfolio company OnTheAir announced today that it has been acquired by Yahoo!. It’s an incredibly exciting partnership, one we think will have tremendous benefits for both parties (not to mention the rest of us when Yahoo!’s new products roll out).

The OnTheAir team—Abel, Dan, Erik, Josh and Mike—has been working on products around live video and real-time web, with the ultimate goal of building something that became a daily use application for millions of people. Yahoo!, with its renewed focus on making its mobile products a part of people’s daily lives, is a perfect fit for the team to continue to realize their passion. We are impressed by Yahoo!’s clear vision and pleased at how closely it aligns with that of the OnTheAir team.

Yahoo! is doing what great companies do and reinventing themselves. In this case, that means anchoring around real talent with a keen focus on mobile. With super A-list development talent out of Apple, Google, Facebook and Stanford, the OnTheAir team will undoubtedly make a huge contribution to this effort.
