Congratulating Entrepreneur Magazine’s “Brilliant 100”

Entrepreneur Magazine has announced its “100 Brilliant Companies” for 2013—100 companies who “have turned brilliant ideas into business solutions.” We are thrilled to congratulate True portfolio companies Makerbot, KISSmetrics, Sifteo, Directly and Flint, all of whom made the list.

Makerbot

One of our primary investment themes is to fund “Founders of Movements.” When we first met Bre in 2009, it became clear within minutes why he was the leader of the 3D printing movement. Bre’s brilliance and creativity literally knows no bounds, and he has built one of the most exciting commercial 3D technology companies of our generation.

KISSmetrics

Hiten and Neil have been an integral part of the True Founder family since 2008. Proven entrepreneurs and good friends of ours, they have created a beautiful analytics product that offers customers all the benefits of a proprietary web analytics system with the flexibility and cost of a web-delivered platform.

Sifteo

Another primary investment theme for True is to fund “Products That Capture the Imagination.” Dave and Jeevan’s Sifteo cubes are bringing traditional gameplay to the digital age with the creation of a truly hands-on interactive game system. By enabling people to interact with virtual information in physical ways, Sifteo is redefining play.

Directly

Antony Brydon started his career in consulting, working for call center companies like Aurum, Aspect and Genesys and for call centers like Sprint setting very long hold times. With Directly, he has created a way for customers to bypass this time-consuming and rarely helpful step. It’s a clear solution to a pervasive problem, which is why Directly is leading a huge shift in the customer service market.

Flint

Behind the simple brilliance of Flint is CEO Greg Goldfarb and a world-class team with deep experience in payments and imaging. We get excited about entrepreneurs who are continuously innovating to create mobile-centric experiences, and Flint is leading the wave of disruption in mobile payments.
