There is nothing we love more than investing in Founders with whom we’ve worked before, so we’re very excited to welcome Jared Kim back to True. Jared was Founder and CEO of the gaming company WeGame, which was acquired by Tagged in September 2011. For the past few years, he’s been working on Forge, an easy way for gamers to instantly and automatically record and share their favorite gaming moments. Forge announced their public beta a few weeks ago, and today are announcing their funding from True.

Capturing video from PC games still often requires extra hardware, technical expertise and, most of all, time. Forge is dedicated to enabling and supporting short-form clip sharing immediately and with zero friction. It records the entire gaming session automatically with minimal impact on game performance, runs ad-free and can be used without exiting the game. When you’re using Forge and something amazing happens in-game, you know it’s already captured, and you can clip it immediately or wait until you’re finished to review all your gaming highlights. Once the action is over, your clip can be shared in a matter of seconds.

We’ve been impressed with Jared since he first talked with us about WeGame. This is a Founder who is intimately connected to the gaming space and knows what gamers need and want. WeGame was the “YouTube for gamers,” and with Forge, Jared is creating the “Vine for gamers.” It’s a real need in the space, and we are very excited to see another awesome product from Jared.

Jared and team Forge, welcome back to True!
