In July, we wrote about the new age of hardware—a tectonic shift in industrialization that is as much based in software as it is in assembly lines. The iPhone, released in the summer of 2007, changed everything, and True Ventures’ first hardware investment (in Fitbit) was not far behind.

True has invested intentionally and prolifically in connected devices since the beginning, and though 2014 is already being touted as “the year of connected devices,” we believe this revolution will continue well beyond next year.
